Join us for a hike along the shores of Toronto Island! After a ferry ride with stunning views of the city skyline, we will start our walk at Ward's Island and head East along the shore. There is lots to learn about the island community, the lake, the interesting views and strange objects encountered along the way – and a abandoned theme park provides the battle ground for a challenging competition. The island farm houses exotic animals and local cats – pigs can be pet and peacocks admired!
Tickets for the ferry can be purchased from the event organizers for $5.80 – please bring exact change. We also hope to have a limited number of free tickets for the first people to RSVP via our Meetup Page.
Note that the walk is fairly long and there may be no places to rest and warm up along the way, so it may not be suitable for all. Dress warmly and bring a bottle of water – or better: a thermos with hot tea.
